In the dark

138 years after Thomas Edison developed the light bulb over 645 million people in Africa lack access to electricity, while over 700 million are without clean energy for cooking.

“Africa is simply tired of being in the dark,” said Africa Development Bank (AfDB) Group President, Akinwumi Adesina.

Whenever pro-capitalists try to say that "this could be solved" under capitalism, I tell them that it's absolutely normal that people aren't getting what they need or could be.

It's perfectly normal for people to die of thirst or starvation.

It's perfectly normal for homelessness.

Sexism, racism, homophobia? Perfectly. Normal.

But of course, it doesn't have to be that way. If only we could get people to understand what socialism would really entail.
